Secure Validation
The converter validates the extension, upload status, TGA header, pixel depth, image type, dimensions and ImageMagick format before conversion.
Convert TGA and TARGA images into compatible PNG files while preserving dimensions, visual quality and alpha transparency.
Upload a genuine TGA image, choose PNG compression settings and download the validated result.
Convert game textures, digital artwork and TARGA graphics into broadly compatible PNG files with professional server-side processing.
The converter validates the extension, upload status, TGA header, pixel depth, image type, dimensions and ImageMagick format before conversion.
PNG supports full alpha transparency, allowing compatible 32-bit TGA images to retain their transparent areas.
Every generated file is checked against the official PNG file signature before the preview and download button are displayed.
Select or drag and drop a valid TGA or TARGA image up to 25 MB into the upload area.
Choose the PNG compression level and decide whether supported image metadata should be preserved.
The server converts and validates the image, then displays a PNG preview, file statistics and download button.
TGA, also called TARGA, is a raster image format commonly associated with video games, texture files, animation, visual effects and professional graphics workflows. It can store uncompressed or run-length encoded image data and may include an alpha transparency channel.
Many browsers, content management systems and online publishing platforms cannot display TGA files directly. PNG offers much wider software and browser compatibility while retaining lossless image data and alpha transparency.
PNG compression is lossless, meaning that changing the compression level affects processing time and file size rather than visual quality. Depending on the original TGA encoding, the PNG output may be smaller or larger than the source.
When the source TGA contains a valid alpha channel, the converter writes a PNG32 image so transparent and semi-transparent pixels can be preserved.
