What Is a UPI QR Code?

A UPI QR code can contain payment information such as a UPI ID, recipient name, amount and payment note. A compatible UPI application can read that information after the QR is scanned.

If you leave the amount empty, the QR can be used as an open-amount payment QR where the payer enters an amount. If you specify an amount, the payment request can include that preset amount.

What Is a UPI ID?

A UPI ID, also called a Virtual Payment Address in many UPI contexts, identifies the payment recipient. It commonly resembles a format such as name@provider.
